Quick report
Light snowfall throughout the day; no signs of instability observed but dug a pit at 6300 ft on an east facing aspect, found HS140, surface hoar layer clearly visible 75cm down. Did an ECT, no fracture or propagation observed, repeated a second time because the null result was surprising. Despite the stubbornness to propagate during both tests, after pulling on the block with the shovel the block pulled off cleanly at the surface hoar layer indicating the potential is still there. Observed some wind loading on ridge tops.
