Today we visited the crown of a reported avalanche just outside the WMR boundary.
- The large (D2) avalanche we visited was 2.5 to 3 feet thick. This avalanche propagated 150 feet wide and ran 400+ linear feet. It is worth noting that this avalanche propagated the full width of the start zone. The avalanche failed on a layer of facets above the 12/22 crust.
- We observed multiple thin soft slabs. These slabs occurred naturally and were just a couple of inches thick.
- We experienced localized cracking around our skis in the new snow.
- Wind speeds increased throughout the day and we observed intense wind transport at low and middle elevations.

Crown and debris noted from uptrack to Ghoulie Point. Tracks to skier's left (North) so unclear if triggered or natural. Given location on typical lee side of ridge, slab may have been comprised of wind-stiffened and wind-thickened snow.
