We were ice climbing

King Creek drainages must have avalanched between March 1 and today March 4 as hubby went in there Feb.28 and nothing then. To me they looked 1 day old but am not expert in avi “age”. We didn’t hang out crossing them just snapped a couple pics as some gulleys still had enough snow to avalanche a 2nd time. And yes 3 of them ran to the ground while we were climbing.. it smelled like dirt crossing them on the way out. They were all from size 1 to size 2-2.5.. pretty impressive I must say.

Just a light wind coming down the drainage, sunny and warm day, definitely hot for the south facing gulleys.
