Quick Observation

Observed several 3-4 big loose slides off the south aspect of Adder as we were ascending jack's between 10 and 11. Chose not to go up Adder and stayed on north side of Jack's. Snow on jack's was approx. 10-15cm of fresh on top of crust. Bond to crust was poor in the morning but improved rapidly through the day. In the morning it was sloughing off the crust easily and not forming slabs. By 2 it was wet and heavy and sticking to everything! In the afternoon fresh precipitation was falling as hail/graupel. Snow line started about 500m in the morning. Skins on at 600m. In the afternoon there was a dusting of snow on the ground back to the valley.

Avalanche Information

Observed big sluffs of wet snow sliding from high on adder down to the lake. Could not identify slab or wet loose from the other side of the lake as we heard the noise and by the time we had turned round the slide was going over the cliffs.
