Light snow, warm temperature (0C @1800 m) on the Duffey Lake today. Skied up to Blowdown peak where thin clouds created green house effect, transforming the surface snow into moist conditions. About 30 cm of light snow sitting on a dense layer provided great skiing conditions. Ski down Melissa’s run on a west facing slope. No signs of instability were observed, no sluffing, no new avalanches seen.
Test profile on NW slope next to Mid Blowdown Weather station. 2 breakable crusts found within the top 120 cm; first down 50 cm (Feb 14) and down 70 cm (mid-Jan). No significant test result on either these layers (ETCX and CTN) .
