Spray River Falls

Ice conditions were challenging on the upper pillar above the cave. Very dense hard cold ice that required intense hacking to produce insecure cone-shaped holes. Had trouble engaging the secondary points on the crampons too due to ice hardness, feet felt shaky on the smooth planar ice. This seemed to be the pattern over the last 3 days, we experinced the same conditions at King Creek and on Carlsberg. Mostly filled in or untracked planar ice, brittle and cold. I use the Krukonogi 0.0 ice only picks and they are razor sharp.
