Quick report
Gate across Eightmile road is closed and road is melted out to the yellow 15% grade sign at ~ 3,000ft. Travel on snow was consistent from there. Snow froze overnight. Ambient air temp was above freezing throughout the day making the 6-8 inches of new on the glacier dense. Skinning up, there was a noticeable resistant planer density break in the top ~3 inches from the warm temps. Lighter snow was easy to find in sheltered areas on the glacier, and skied well to the lake. Interface between old snow new snow on solar aspects above 8k was well bonded and did not produce concerning results from hand shears. Loose dry avalanches were observed ~3pm coming off climbers left into Aasgard pass at its lower elevation well below the Aasgard Sentinel.
