Quick report
Rain runnels highlight the high volume of water that is draining from the snowpack. Suncups, normally seen in April-July, also show the extreme recent heat. The upper snowpack was settled after so many hot days, and boot penetration and ski penetration was 5-10cm. The one steep West roll I pushed on did not initiate a wet loose.

Light winds and increasing cloud cover by dusk.
Snowpack
HS130 on W aspect at 5100', but HS280 on a NE at 5300' (windloading may contribute to difference along with aspect). Southerly upper elevation windward slopes across the drainage were bare ground. A pooling slush layer was found down 45cm above a melt freeze crust (see profile, photo). No results on this layer in a long column test, although this problem is hard to test for.
