Snowpack
I dug pits on southwest and northeast facing slopes. The snowpack structure was similar on both aspects: a 30cm/1' crust, dense snow/crusts, and then the weak November-December snow (see pit graph for details). Despite the super thick crust on top and the moist, dense snowpack from top to bottom, I still got propagating results in compression and extended column tests. The snowpack continues to fail on the November-December snow. My test results showed the weak snow from this Fall being MORE sensitive than it was last week, even though it is now capped by a bunch of concrete-like snow.
Test results: 5350' SW - CT11SC down 60cm & CT13SC down 60cm. 5430' NE- ECTP23SC down 100cm.
