Quick report

72 cm sits on top of the 3/12 melt-freeze at the Bench Hut level (7530'). About 32 cm is on top of the dust layer with graupel that fell overnight. The new snow has various density changes within it. The bottom of the slab was stiffening up with F+ hardness. Ski pen was 42 cm. Snowfall persisted for most of the day at S1 rates, with showers tapering around 1500. Visibility remained poor, making it difficult to assess recent avalanche activity. However, we could hear the avalauncher firing along Highway 21—pretty cool!
