Quick report

75cm of snow at 6820 ft on WNW aspect. Relatively medium-small surface hoar on recent storm slab. CT17 15cm down in a quick pit showed collapse (Q1-Q2), but didn’t do ECT for propagation. CT25 40cm down Q2-Q3 No observed instability signs. No observed signs of instability.

Clear with slight clouds coming in afternoon. Nice sun. Trailhead starting cold but the day warmed to just above freezing.

Snowpack

The crust ~40cm down has some softer snow underneath it that should be monitored for faceting as temps are forecast to stay fairly low. Around the second crust layer ~60cm down snow is fairly cohesive. Did not have the chance for more detailed snow study. Didn't get into wind-deposition areas but didn't see much sign of wind-loading in the low elevation windward areas we were in.
