Quick report
There was a firm, supportable crust from the paradise parking lot all the way up to muir. Below panorama face there were rain runnels, and the snow was slightly softer though still firm. From Pebble creek up to ~8500' it was especially icy and slippery--would definitely recommend boot or ski crampons. The top 1000' below muir was still firm, but with more sastrugi and windboard this was definitely the most fun to ski, though nothing skied very well. A stiff breeze was blowing on the upper snowfield, gusting to an estimated 20-25 knots, and I never noticed any softening of the snow. I did observe the wind transporting dry snow up there. Overall tricky skiing; a number of people walked down carrying their skis on their pack.
Avalanche
There was avalanche debris below some steeper slopes, presumably from the last storm, but no signs of instability today.
