Open sunny slopes had a crust with faceted snow below, and open shady slopes had 30cm of good facet skiing. The northeast-facing couloir we bootpacked had varying degrees of wind stiffness, from 10 cm thick in select spots to just a wind skin in most places. There was a 3cm-thick crust 30cm down, with facets forming the remainder of the snowpack above and below. We saw no signs of instability and felt comfortable skiing this terrain.
