Snow line is at about 4700’ on the south climb trail up Rock mountain. Snowpack was very wet and saturated even early in the morning. Above treeline there was widespread recent wet loose and some wet slab avalanche activity. Ski pen was quite deep (approx. 15-20cm) and “trail breaking” proved difficult with the wet snow. Climbing up south rock mountain there were clear wind loaded pockets that failed easily in hand pits and caused cracking/collapsing on the skin track though there was no propagation observed. Lots of cornices on the ridge between Rock and S Rock. Ski down from Rock had some nice snow in some spots and very wet, sticky, heavy snow on the exit.
Avalanche
Lots and lots of wet loose activity. A few wet slabs and some cornice falls that caused wet slabs
