Quick report
We toured up to Sweeney Peak today. Windslabs were present on east aspects along the ridge, but we could not get them to release on multiple test slopes. We dug a pit at 8500 on a north aspect. ECTN 5 on the interface of the Tuesday and Thursday snow, and ECTN15 on the layer under the crust from the latest warm up. No collapsing or cracking was observed, and besides natural wet loose avalanches on east faces from the morning sun the snow felt stable. There was minor sluffing on steeper north facing terrain, but it did not entrain any snow.
Avalanche
Multiple wet loose avalanches were observed on the east face of the 2nd Sweeney bowl, as well as a small wind slab that we believe may have been triggered by the wet loose avalanches that occured.
