Quick report
Another gorgeous squally day, with intermittent sun and snow throughout the day. Moderate downslope winds were present all morning and tapered to calm by early afternoon. Overall, where we were traveling we found the new snow well bonded to the old snow. While breaking trail we noticed a significant density change between this weekend's storm snow, and the storm snow from last week, which together totaled closer to 2 feet of new snow. This density change was spatially variable so that on the ski down we were getting mostly boot-top deep powder with the occasional knee (to thigh for a shorter skier) deep turns. We dug a pit at our high point (near the base of the couloir that the other party climbed/skied) and did not get anything of note. We measured 55 cm of snow from last week. During the brief sunbursts, we were able to get good views of S facing terrain on the Jos, and only noted some small point releases from rock outcrops by late afternoon.
