Went for a short tour in the terrain behind the top of Chair 4 at lost trail, to assess if there was any good snow around, and was pleasantly surprised. I dug a quick pit at 7700ft on a 28 degree NW slope. The upper 38cm of the snowpack was fist hardness facets, with a slight crust on the surface. Below those facets was another layer of facets, that seemed to be more rounded, 4f hardness. That layer went down to a crust from sometime in december. A compression test yielded a result of Ct21 Q2, at the interface between the face layers. The snowpack seemed relatively stable, but like it could get pretty spooky with a large load on top of the facets.
