Quick report

Toured north of the summit today on south and north aspects. Found little signs of instability in our travels. Wind slabs were stubborn and stayed put, did not experience any collapses or cracking, and did not see any recent crowns (although visibility was limited as it was snowing off and on with little accumulation). We did have minor loose snow sluffs in steeper terrain. We noticed settlement cones around trees. This area has received over 5 inches of SWE since the new year. Of note, creeks are more open than in years past making crossings difficult especially in lower elevations. Smaller micro terrain steep rollovers were non-reactive. Overall our confidence grew in the snowpack as the day progressed but still traveled cautiously.
