Dry, loose facets sitting on a rain crust may turn into a future problem when the facets get buried, what can wrong here??? Cornices are larger than I typically see in the area traveled today, I'm giving them extra room. While I generally agree with the Moderate rating in the PAC forecast today, I'm adding extra caution due to the "pucker factor" and still treating our complex snowpack as Considerable for my travel purposes to be on the old-fart cautious side of things. Observed one loose snow sluff by others most likely on Sunday. Minor cracking in the faceted snow surface, no shooting cracks.

It should be noted that we had an east component to the wind today, that creeps me out because it is not common and loads snow in areas we are not used to and can catch folks by surprise. Loading went from moderate in the am to light in the pm.
Snowpack
A big change in the snowpack from Sunday to today. On Saturday/Sunday the damp storm snow was sitting on a semi-soft spongy rain wetted surface that was only partially frozen and changed to loose, dry large-grained facets sitting on a supportable crust over the last two days.
