We had really good snow quality given the temps the day before, with the surface staying soft except on Western exposed terrain at ridgetop that was getting wind hammered sending plumes into South Aspects. Tracks were getting filled in within an hour in wind exposed terrain. Solar aspect’s picked up enough heat to initiate small point releases or D-1s, and moisten the snow surface briefly as the sun was dominated most of the day by clouds. We had propagating results (ECTP 22RP) in our test pit on a NW Aspect at 7048’ on the layer responsible for the observed natural Avalanches on buried surface hoar/graupel combination 10” below the snow surface.
