Quick report
Skied the Dogleg on Maggie's South and the North trees off Maggie's North. In the morning, periodic bits of sunshine were wetting the snow on solar aspects, but the NE facing part of the dogleg was still soft wintery snow at 10:30. There was some loose dry sluffing, but it was limited and short running, and no slab formation was noted. There was natural wet loose activity out of the SE facing south and central couloirs, and some icefall off the cliffs on that side. By late morning, thicker cloud cover moved in, and the greenhousing shot through the roof. By 12:30, snow on every aspect up to 8600' was wet, and large rollerballs and wet loose activity were noted everywhere. The steep gullies just above 89 were a mess of loose wet debris, and some rollerballs had reached the road. However, these did not entrain much snow, and were mostly insignificant in terms of consequence, but definitely a factor in ski quality. Winds were calm all day, and air temperatures were above freezing at all elevations up to 8600'. Besides the small wet instabilities, no cracking or collapsing was noted anywhere. In terms of coverage, the dogleg is filled in and passable, but just over ski width at the choke. The other steep south side lines aren't quite filled in yet, but improving in coverage. The NW couloir down to Eagle Lake is totally wind stripped down to dirt and rock for the top 200'.
