Quick report
- Cracking
- isolated
We went for a tour after lunch in the Horse Peak area above Frog Lake, so as to allow the new snow to accumulate. We found more snow that we were anticipating. In wind loaded aspects there was about 8” of new snow. We observed wind sculpted features above tree line but saw minimal cracking and wind slab behavior in these areas on small test slopes. In below tree line terrain, snow was uncohesive and displayed dry loose characteristics on a few steeper slopes, although we avoided avalanche terrain.
