No new snow, temps at least 48F, sunny. Conservative travel decisions, only 1 lap. The slides weren’t big enough to carry us, but pretty much every turn on the top half of the run released a small slide. Super super reactive.
Avalanche
Moonlight Bowl near Steven’s pass (~4k to 5.2k) was prolific in D1 wet loose slides this afternoon. We got to the ridge around 2pm and did only 1 lap, as nearly every turn on the top half of the bowl was releasing slides. Temps were forecasted to be 48F but it felt warmer. Slopes <35 degrees were slightly less reactive. The top 3-4” was consistently sliding, running 50-100 feet depending on the terrain. We observed 1 small natural avalanche that had already occurred before we skied, but the rest was human triggered. No one was caught, buried, or pushed into tree wells/terrain traps.
