Felt really dumb for thinking this area would be more "in" -- it's still early season! So many sticks and logs and other lurking hazards...lots of anchors! On the plus side, the new snow was super heavy and extra supportive! Around 4500' the top layers of the snow got lighter which was pleasant. Everything was very glued together except for some obvious wind affected snow high on the ridge. We observed a small amount of active wind transport. It was snowing heavily when we arrived in the Nordic lot around 8:30 but quickly tapered off to no precip and some blue sky and sun made appearances throughout the morning and midday. I was surprised that it was not the cold and precipitous storm day I had expected it to be. Left the Pass around 2pm to above-freezing temps.
