Quick report
- Cracking

- Collapsing

Some cracking and instability on steeper terrain and while on the skin track. The breakable crust underneath is not only hard to ski, but it’s also still unstable even with a few inches on top of it in steeper terrain. Let’s continue to monitor.
Avalanche
Skiing into Bowl two with Devil‘s Thumb on skiers right and skiing down from one of chutes off the pyramid peak I triggered a D1 few inch deep slab over the breakable crust that released after a long ski cut . We also observed an avalanche below Devil’s Thumb which may or may not occurred today. By zooming in on the first photo, you can see the slide.
