Quick report

We skied up Heliotrope Ridge yesterday to check out the recent storm system. Freezing level was just above 5,000 feet, and we had mild precip all day long, with occasional bands of more intense snowfall accompanied by stronger winds. Above 5,000 feet there were a few inches of fresh snow, and skiing conditions were pretty good once we got onto the western margin of the Coleman Glacier, with up to 8 inches of fresh snow sitting atop old snow and ice. Visibility, however, was very poor. Below the glacier riding conditions were more challenging, 4-6 inches of wet snow on rocks and vegetation. However, we had a great time.
