Snowpack
The non-persistent weak layer within the storm snow that was reactive in the Indian Peaks on Sunday is not very reactive here. Instead of reactive wind slabs, we found a 2-inch thick breakable melt-freeze crust on steep, sun-exposed slopes. The snow below this was moist and well bonded to the old snow surface.
