Quick report
Hard slabs formed on leeward side of ridge. I did not get any slabs to release with ski cuts but slab (about 15 cm thick) popped off when I isolated the column in a hand pit (NE aspect at 6,000 ft). Snow directly below hard slab was soft, unconsolidated powder (fist hardness). JDL still present about 100 cm down. Strong ridgeline winds from the WNW transporting snow on leeward slope. Light snowfall with warming during the day. Skiing was marginal at best with tree bombs in treed areas, thick firm sun crust on solar aspects, and wind slabs in exposed areas. Skied cautiously in treed areas or low angle slopes.
