Quick report
On steep SE aspects this afternoon at altitudes between 4600-5000', there were a lot of big roller balls originating at exposed rocks. There was one tiny loose wet avalanche that was too small to warrant an entry. It traveled less than 100' and piled up only a couple of cubic meters of snow. There was a lot of fog below 6000' today and the roller balls happened during a rare afternoon sunny spell. Above 6000', there was sunshine and very high winds out of the NW (gusts to 75 mph) and a summit temp around 35 F. Snow was soft and wet all the way up to the summit. There was a crackly thin ice layer on the snow above 8000'. The steep east aspect of Monitor Ridge between 7200 and 7700' had soft wet snow often sitting on a thick ice layer. I saw no signs of instability or recent avalanches other than as note above.
