Quick Observation

All the new snow from yesterday night and today was pretty reactive on top of the old one. A lot of sluff! After dropping from the top of Burnt Knob, we followed a wide-open gulley that leads us to the main drainage on the right of the knob. In the gulley, my two friends went down by the right side and found a safe spot while waiting for me. As the right side was pretty rocky and tracked out by my friends, I decided to traverse across the gully to ride the left side and ended up triggering a little storm slab that broke roughly four meters above my head. Luckily, it was just 15-to-20-cm deep, so the slab passed through my legs as I was able to stay where I was (probably not the best reaction, but we all learn from our mistakes).
