Went up zupjok southwest ridge. Original plan was to do a lap of east ridge. Rapid warming and wet sticky snow on way up.
At 1700m, dug a pit. First column failed while cutting the column. Failed 40cm down. Second column test failed 40cm down when placing shovel lightly on top of column. ECT showed similar results. Very reactive, cohesive wet slabs.
Continued up ridge another 20m, loud whumpfing. Decided to turn around and follow ridge back down.
Skiing trees back down the ridge was amazing though.
Stay safe out there.
