Youngs Peak

Beauty day going up the Asulkan Valley to Youngs Peak, then back down the 7-Steps for the last day of an AST 2. We weren’t convinced about going up the headwall, but as we got closer the wind affect wasn’t as hollow as we thought it might be while pole probing, there was a recent avalanche on the climbers right, ski tracks down the aggressive part of the roll lookers left that didn’t trigger anything, and a recent skin track only partly buried. 5mm surface hoar sitting on the surface below treeline.

While skiing down we noticed fresh tracks on the Thorington Face (Leda) from a party that triggered a size 1 slab half way down.
