Quick Observation
Awesome day out today, good sledding, great skiing! No new avalanches observed, no signs of instability as we toured up and then skied down. It was completely calm (even at ridgetop), overcast, -9 at the top, and we saw no signs of recent wind affect. Thanks to a great skin-track (thanks tow-in skiers!!) that kept a steady climb-angle and stayed in the safer terrain, we were able to get two laps in on a north facing 30 deg slope from 2200m to 1800 m. We dug a hasty profile at 2200 m on this N aspect, finding 160 cm total snowpack, the top 25cm of which was recent soft snow from the last seven or eight days. We had no significant results in snowpack tests in this location.
