Saw multiple relatively small size (1-1.5) natural avalanche coming from the alpine face to the west of crowfoot glades. Most stopped in the “valley” between the alpine face and treeline. However, one notable exception was a size 2.5 that ran full length (all the way down to the drainage/terrain-trap between crowfoot glades and and the end of the moraine bowl). This was a near miss for me and my partner which we’re just finishing our run and near the bottom of the drainage. Fortunately we traversed skiers right near the end of the run to avoid the terrain trap. Based on the lack of an apparent large face in the alpine, we were quite surprised by the avalanche size. The overhead hazard in this area was substantially higher than what we expected. It would appear the trigger was a combination of the new storm snow weight and a wind gust.
Crust 40cm down from the surface slightly effected ski quality. Depth of crust was variable based on aspect.
