Intermittent rain and sleet kept riding conditions not terribly desirable this week. Heavy rain in particular on Wednesday and Thursday created a rain crust by Friday morning. The crust was generally supportive above treeline, and less than supportive (punch crust) below treeline. During Wednesday and Thursday of this week, snow was dense and showed propensity for wet loose, particularly on steeper slopes. By Friday, the snow surface was generally locked up, and no new avalanche activity was observed.
