Unexpected Reverse Loading

We found pencil+ windslabs 10-15cm thick on SW slopes above 2300m. A small cycle had occurred within the last 48hrs to sz 1 at similar elevation and aspect. We had 5 major whumfs/massive cracking where this layer would splinter up to 10 meters above us. Most of these settlements where in mellow terrain and we backed of off our main goal. Felt like this slab had lots of potential energy but was stubborn with the cold temps. Skiing down there Hermit there was no wind effect and the skiing was great.
