On a northwest near treeline slope we failed to get propagating results (ECTX) despite a well-defined, strong (1 Finger) -over-weak (fist hard) structure.
Digging on a west slope above treeline we found evidence that moisture has passed through the snowpack to weak grains at the ground during last week's warm temperatures and superficial freezes. The snowpack structure on this aspect is shallower and stronger than on aspects that tilt more north.
