Murray Morraine TeleTurns

Excellent day of telemark turns. Skied 25 degree slope at base of Murray morraine. 35-40 cm settled fresh snow. Wind affected and stiffer or slight slab in some areas. -8C at truck in morning; +5C at truck at end of day. Around 0C most of the day on slope. Dug pit and conducted column test. Snowpack compressed but no failure on previous crusts. Early March crust observed at 35-40 cm. Mid Feb crust observed at 60 cm. Winds increased during the day; started out NE; SW became more prevalent later in the day. Observed several cornice failures on Mount Smith-Dorrien.
