Low snow but still soft in Harvey

Today in the Harvey area we found soft snow in sheltered areas. This soft snow seems to be the result of cool temperatures faceting the upper snowpack. There is a widespread surface hoar layer that is now mixed with a trace of new snow. There were moderate winds at ridge top but no snow seemed to be moving around but we did not get directly into the alpine. There was an 80 cm total snow depth at TL that is supportive of skis but not boots.
