auto: Quick Report

Recent ~size 2.5-3 avi in alpine avi path to East of location (see photo). Trigger unknown, timing likely earlier this week. Dug pit at 2250m at ~TL (location pin), on a 30° SW aspect slope. Snow depth 100cm, 35cm fist to 4 finger recent storm snow, surface hoar later obvious below this, with weak unconsolidated facets all the way to the hardened (pencil) basal facet layer. Column test yielded CT23 pop/drop on the surface hoar layer (35cm). Stayed away from the alpine, large slopes. Weather was -9°C, calm winds, partially sunny skies.
