Snowpack

CT11U@40cm, PST 75cm RP on 55cm layer. 35' Slope. Slight inversion,-12C at 1700m, -5C@2010m. Cloudy to partially cloudy, LS, light wind from the South. HS 85cm. Nice day touring. Started out cold at the car and once in the valley wind died down and temps rose a little. light wind only returned once at higher elevation. Observed an approximately 5 day old sz 2 on a northern slope(about 15cm of new snow on debris) and a recent 0.5. A few recent cornice failures were noted that had rolled quite far down the slope. Snow stability was good with a few solar crusts on certain aspects and a few sections of wind slabs. We skied primarily on the shoulders of the trees with one well sheltered couloir.
