Poor Snowpack Structure
Red Flags Comment

Other than the poor snow structure no other red flags observed. Today was the first day I did not get cracking or collapsing in my travels.

Not much different to report but I am finding the rime crust easily slides on the snow crystals it is sitting on which are more needle-like in structure.

Instability Comment

I would say the the persistant slab danger is decreasing but I was still getting results from CT and ECT tests. My results today all failed on the basal facets at the bottom of the snow pack which has been atypical with all my other tests in the past as they failed higher in the pack.

Test pit @ 9050, west facing on a 37° slope

CT11Q2

ECTP13, Q2/3

Mixed snow conditions. Surface and near surface facets observed at all elevations traveled. Rime crust present as well.
