Low angle North enjoyers are devastated to find the current status of the Low/Mid elevations... today's observation includes the notable discovery that the location rose of cold faceted snow has shrunk once more. During the observation period of 9-12am, from elevations 8600'-9200' a variety of aspects were sampled. A thick melt freeze crust was present on solars, a thinner, breakable one on low angle North and steep Northeast (pictured in hand), and the only observed areas with no crust at all were steep Norths, where the snowpack is 0-60cms of entirely faceted snow at this point. With upcoming snow, this information is not just pertinent for current ski/sled conditions, but important to map future hazard.
