- <p> </p> <p>I wanted to see what lower elevation shady slopes looked like after avalancing early in the mid January cycle. The slope above avalanched 1/12/24 failing on mid Dec NSF and a layer of SH. On this slope, the snow structure has come full circle and ECT's produced negative results.</p> <p>Winds blew up high and viz was less than ideal, so I opted for lower elevation, sheltered terrain.</p>
I took my own advice, avoided avalanche terrain , and found glorious skiing on low angle spines facing the south half of the compass.
