Between November 7-14, 1998 there were a number of reported avalanches in the Salt Lake Region:
- Snowbird-several large deep slides 2'-3' deep x 200' wide Mineral Basin south and north aspects
- Brighton-several deep slides up to 3' deep
- Snowbird-lower and mid elevation east facing slopes 2.5' deep x 200' wide, some sympathetic
- Alta- not a lot of results with control. "probably skier compaction is a factor"
- Park City-north aspect avalanche released on surface hoar that was buried in October/November
