Basal facets starting to clump, not just pouring out of the base of the pit. The surface hoar layer I was not too worried about due to the location of the pit. Again, riding was excellent. Sloughing initiated but quickly arrested itself. For skiing at least, it looks low tide but the supportability of the snow is so good that it skied great. Wind stripped upper elevation unprotected slopes. Funky layer that had pencil resistance and a whole lot of pine needles, branches and debris in it (dark looking layer in the pic of the pit).
Snowpack
Excellent riding conditions. Supportable, fast and total cold smoke.
