Snowpack

Instability Comment

Snowpack was shallow and generally weak on most aspects at mid-upper elevations that we traveled today. Hand pits showed relative weak layers of facets buried approximately 45-50 cm. Formation of near surface facets also noted. Recent slab avalanche activity was seen in upper elevation bowls on SE - E aspects (reported previously)

Dense wind slab noted mainly at upper elevations. No evidence of active/ongoing loading. While traveling we noticed some localized collapses in isolated pockets.
