VOC crew did some test pits on the NW face of Round Mountain today. 43* slope, overcast, snow depth in excess of 180cm. Second very distinct shear at 78cm, layer of consolidation sitting on deep sugar crystals. Pressure column test caused shear at 42cm after 23 shovel taps, sudden clean shear at 78cm and 28 taps. ECT column test 30cm X 90cm, isolated partial shear directly below shovel at 42cm and 30 taps, no propagation on column.
