Coordinates

Quick Observation

Lots of settlements, whumpfing, shooting cracks, small remote triggering. Good snow quality again! The crust really helped bridge some of the lurking hazards (or at least appears to be haha)

Weather

-2 at the Nordic Parking. -5 at ridge top (2000m) Light freezing drizzle driving by Glory Parking lot.

Snowpack

Very unsettled feeling snowpack. Lots of whumpfing throughout the day, snow was cracking on all unsupported sloped and convexities. The top 45cm of snow was failing easily on the rain/temperature crust from last week. Of note was, where the crust was not supportive (North Facing) their seemed to be a crust facet combo and combined with the new snow, made it hard to put any trust into anything remotely steep or open. The recent SW winds were also creating more cohesive wind slabs on top of this crust layer which was also reactive. All compression tests (SW & NE) both failed easy with 1-3 taps.
