Yet another day of poor visibility and flat light above tree line in Renshaw. Still lots of fun to be had in the trees though with 20cm of awesome blower pow that has accumulated over the last few days. Our main concern going in today was whether the new snow would have formed into reactive new wind slabs in wind-loaded north through east facing slopes. While we didn't make it up high in the alpine we did test the snow at the tree line and found it to be well bonded. There was no sign of the persistent weak layer of surface hoar down 40-60cm that's been plaguing nearby areas in our snow pit. (We did find it on the access trail on the ride in down at 1400m but not in any areas higher up.) Overall the Renshaw area seems to be enjoying a period of relatively stable conditions in contrast to nearby areas in the North Rockies and Cariboos.
